I tend to hold lots of tension in my trapezius, which are the muscles between the shoulders and neck.

If I do yoga regularly and am keeping those muscles stretched, I don’t have much problem.
But when I’m not doing yoga and I’m carrying a baby or heavy purse around a lot or spending hours at a time on the Read more…

Neosporin is gone for good at our house. We don’t ever look back. My kids know our essential oils and ointment work so well, they’re begging for these whenever they get a scratch (which is about every 10 minutes).
Why would we want a natural alternative to antibiotic ointment? Conventional thinking teaches us that we need to kill potentially harmful viruses and bacteria, especially in dealing with wounds. But what about our healthy flora? Read more…

My sister, Emili, invited me to a meeting a few months ago, to learn about a new company selling essential oils. Just the previous month, I had dropped a wad of money buying essential oils from Vickie for my emergency preparedness cabinet.
Essential oils have a pretty long shelf life if they are protected from heat, oxygen and light. So I figured it would be a good investment. With the economy the way it is, I wanted to be prepared with effective tools with which to care for my family. Read more…

So, I didn’t write the really funny part. That’s the fact I was studying herbs while my husband, Mike, was in medical school.
He already knew I was a little nuts, but I think I was pushing him a little too far. He was supportive, don’t get me wrong, but when we discussed possible scenarios of illness, especially regarding our kids, we began to have differing opinions. Read more…
