The vast majority of the books, products and natural medicine I discuss on my website I have purchased with my OWN MONEY, and used long enough (years often) to have developed a strong opinion. I recommend the things I love best based on my personal repeated experience and use. Right now, all commissions or money made from purchases on this site go to cover my expenses and benefit my Causes.
My daughter spent the night at a relatives house a week and a half ago and brought home a nice gift: a virus. It’s been going through our family and caused croup in my baby and toddler. I am still getting over congestion myself. Here’s a video I made about it on the spur of the moment.
Tool #1-Essential Oils. I’ve been rubbing Doterra’s immune blend called OnGuard, diluted with carrier oil on their chest and neck (and I drink this in herbal tea too). I also
rubbed a respiratory blend called Breathe on their feet, which cuts congestion and helps them and me breathe much easier. I’ve also been drinking lemon essential oil in my water, which is gently cleansing and decongesting. My reference guide suggests essential oils of thyme, marjoram and sandalwood, (diluted) so I’m rubbing my baby down with those too.
Tool #2-Elderberry syrup. I was giving my kids Elderberry syrup every few hours to keep things at bay. Today I’ve Read more…
If you’d like to give Jenni some feedback on what classes you’d like, here’s the place to do it!

This is Emili, Jenni’s younger sister. You might have read in one of my previous posts where I mentioned that my first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. After successfully having 3 more pregnancies and 3 more children, I recently became pregnant again late last year. This time I had some complications and began spotting around 9 weeks.
To make a long story short, when I went in to get an ultra sound at 12 weeks, there was no heart beat and I lost the baby. It was a very difficult experience for me, and I felt very alone, although blessed to have 3 beautiful children to hold on to as I grieved my loss.
The purpose of this post is to share some of the tips I picked up to help others avoid the same problem. These are things Read more…
With seven rambunctious kids, I have to have good home medical tools. I’d go crazy if I didn’t. Essential oils have given me effective and nurturing ways to treat my family’s ills.
I finished a master herbalist degree a couple summers and have been studying essential oils. I still use herbs for various health issues, but I have found essential oils to be much more effective than regular herbs in treating many problems.
They are as potent as drugs, without the side effects. So, even though my husband is an ER physician, I end up treating the Read more…
We have “fruit drink” at our house everyday at 3 PM.
It serves as an afternoon snack for our family. It’s so nutritionally power-packed that I don’t have to worry about whether my kids eat their dinner veggies or not.
Raw, uncooked foods provide our bodies with live energy and enzymes, which help everything to work better. And this is the most convenient way I’ve found to make it happen.
My sister, Emili, invited me to a meeting a few months ago, to learn about a new company selling essential oils. Just the previous month, I had dropped a wad of money buying essential oils from Vickie for my emergency preparedness cabinet.
Essential oils have a pretty long shelf life if they are protected from heat, oxygen and light. So I figured it would be a good investment. With the economy the way it is, I wanted to be prepared with effective tools with which to care for my family. Read more…
I used to be clueless about health. I guess I knew exercise was a good activity, and eating fruits and vegetables was something I should do. I certainly didn’t make it a priority, though, unless it was really fun (and that usually only applied to the exercise part).
I actually believed that living on pasta-roni, a steamed vegetable once in a while, and loaf upon loaf of soft, white, shepherd’s bread was a fine diet for a young, strapping woman like myself. Read more…
