Oils To The Rescue!

My son had his last baseball game of the season tonight.  We do sports about once a year for each child, otherwise our lives are too crazy.  Anyway, I decided to take the kids out afterward for some food and dessert at Hogi Yogi.  I try not to buy things with white sugar, but we splurge here and there.  We ate chicken and brown rice, then frozen pineapple yogurt with raspberries on top.  Sounds pretty benign, right?

My stomach started hurting on the way home. I took some enzymes, but they didn’t do much.  When I got home I
made some chamomile and peppermint tea for my baby, put him to bed and drank a little of the tea myself.  That definitely wasn’t enough.

After a little while, I could hardly walk the pain was so bad.  I couldn’t find my Doterra Digestzen essential oil immediately, so I got out some straight fennel oil I had and rubbed it on my tummy.  That eased the pain somewhat, and helped some gas move out of my system.  I just sat on the couch with my kids for about an hour.

Then my baby woke up screaming, the kind of scream that doesn’t come out very often and means something is wrong.  His tummy felt hard.  I rubbed some fennel on him, but he kept screaming.  I gave him a little catnip and fennel tincture (Kid-e-Col), but he wouldn’t take much.  After a couple minutes of more screaming, I started hunting for my Doterra Digestzen essential oil.  I finally found it and rubbed a lot on his little tummy.  He burped a couple times.  I rocked him for a few minutes and then put him back to bed.

Within 15 minutes of waking up totally bloated, my baby was back in bed asleep.  It’s been an hour, and I haven’t heard a peep from him.  I’m doing much better since I used the Digestzen on myself.

Thank goodness for essential oils!
