Do you ever experience intense discomfort or cramping during your monthly cycle? Do you ever have unexplained pain or heavy bleeding from the uterus? Do you or anyone you know suffer from Endometriosis, polycystic ovaries (PCOS) or Pelvic Inflammatory Disease?
Recently I’ve been studying essential oils and how they can help with these women’s pelvic issues.
From what I’ve found, many of the same essential oils are recommended for these different issues. I’m also including information on herbal and dietary help.
Synergistic Essential Oil Blend for Women
- 1/4 Cup Carrier Oil (Fractionated Coconut, Olive or other)
- 20 drops Geranium
- 20 drops Nutmeg
- 10 drops Ginger
- 10 drops Clary-sage
- 5 drops Cypress
This blend can be massaged on abdomen and bottoms of feet twice daily and should be for at least 2-4 cycles. Only about a teaspoon is needed for one application. A hot compress or washcloth applied over abdomen will increase the absorption of the oils.
Vickie’s PMS* essential oil blend, 3 drops, rubbed over the uterus, will also help dissolve cysts. The next couple periods after using may pass some tissue or smell funny because the uterus is detoxing.
If pain is especially bad, the amount of essential oils may be doubled in the carrier oil and applied 3 times a day the week before period is due. Also, add 15 drops of clove essential oil to the above blend.
Baths are excellent for increasing circulation, so in a hot bath add 10 drops of the above recipe without the carrier oil. This can be done daily and may speed up the healing process.
Herbal Aids
- Vickie has an excellent formula called Cramp Relief that works well for managing pain and cramping.
- Dr. Christopher’s Female Reproductive Formula AND Hormonal Changease Formulas OR Vickie’s FemEase, 2 capsules, 2-3 times a day, to rebuild and cleanse reproductive organs and balance hormones.
- Evening Primrose oil, 2 capsules morning and night, helps with hormone production and balance.
- Red Raspberry Leaf, tea or capsules, 1 cup or 1 capsules taken 3 times a day to strengthen and nourish the female system, reducing pain.
Whole Food Power
- Cut out white sugar and processed foods as much as possible while dealing with these problems, at least for a few months. Limit meat and dairy with hormones (buy organic) because the estrogen based hormones in these products cause the cysts to grow.
- Feed your body whole, raw foods, lots of greens and super nutrition (see my post on Pregnancy Nutrition).
- For ultra nutrition and fastest results use fresh wheat grass juice. Drink it (2 oz a day) and even douche with it. Douche with 4-6 oz in a tub with towels under hips. Remain with hips elevated for at least 10 minutes. This is potent nourishment to the cervix and uterus, and is especially helpful in cases of heavy bleeding.
Some of these suggestions seem so simple, and the reality is that there are simple but effective (and much cheaper and less invasive than surgeries and other conventional treatments).
Dr Christopher taught over and over, cleanse and nourish the body and it will function as it should. Drugs don’t do this. Sometimes they can alter something in the body to achieve a desired result, but they generally don’t cleanse, nourish or heal.
These natural products from Mother Earth can aid the body in overcoming many obstacles, including those genetic and environmental, so that it can work as it was created. Trust them, use them. If they don’t seem to be making a difference, be patient. Unlike drugs, they take time to do their jobs–usually a few weeks to a few months, at least.
After years of our imperfect lifestyles, how can we expect anything less? The good news is, there’s hope. The body knows what it’s supposed to do. When given time, the proper tools and nourishment it can often repair itself and function the way it should. Give it a try!

Wish I had known this 30 years ago. I had to have a hysterectomy at 24 because of Endometriosis. Then after being on hormones for about 15 -20 years I had a recurrence of the Endometriosis. Then I had to have a 2nd surgery to clean up the mess again. It was a painful experience. So far no more episodes of the pain and bleeding.
Wow! I’m sorry to hear it, but glad you haven’t had any more problems. Unfortunately, countless women have had similar experiences. Hearing about it fires my passion to get the message out that there are tools available that do work, and there are other treatments that can be very effective for healing.
Thanks for sharing your story.
What a timely post! I’ve been wanting to look into oils that would help with reproductive issues. I often have horrible cramping on the first day of my menstrual cycle. So much so that I have to take a sick day at work. I’ve also noticed in the last several months that I’ll have slight cramping repeatedly throughout the month. But these last few months have also been very stressful, so perhaps that’s been the cause?
I’m also 29 years old, and my husband and I recently started trying to get pregnant. It’s been three months with no success, even though I’ve been charting my temperatures and we’ve been perfectly timing intercourse. What oils would you suggest to help enhance fertility and relieve the cramping?
Stress can contribute to reproductive problems, but if the system is nourished enough it can handle stress fairly well.
I highly recommend the herbal aids I mention in this article to strengthen your reproductive system and balance your hormones. Pain is a sign your system needs specific nourishment. Vickie’s Cramp Relief is good for acute symptoms.
Red raspberry leaf, women’s herbs, primrose oil and a wholesome diet will nourish and balance your system, decrease pain and definitely enhance fertility. The essential oils I mention above will help as well. Use them if you have them.
Vickie has helped many couples get pregnant by recommending a 2 week juice fast. Two weeks of fresh and bottled juices (along with herbs for the female system-and male system, too) changes the chemistry in the body somehow. This worked for my own brother and his wife, who had tried for a couple years to get pregnant.
Please keep me posted on how things go for you!
Thank you so much, Jenni!! I’ll definitely give the herbal remedies a try. Where can I get the primrose oil? For the Red Raspberry leaf tea, do I need to drink a cup of tea three times a day or just one cup a day?
I’ve been eating a whole food diet for more than a year now. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2005, but after reading and following The Maker’s Diet in 2009, my colitis has cleared up and I’m off all medicine. PTL! That’s what opened my eyes to the power food really has in our bodies. Now I’m a firm believer that if we nourish our bodies properly it will heal and balance itself.
I may try the juice fast as well. I’m assuming I can juice both fruits and vegetables? Would both my husband and I do the fast, or just me? Also, what herbal remedies would you recommend for men who have low sperm count?
That’s so awesome that you cleared up ulcerative colitis through diet! I would love to hear the whole story. If you want to write it, perhaps I could share it with other readers on this blog. Let me know.
I can order 60 caps of Super Primrose Oil for anyone from Vickie for $11.50, otherwise check your local health food store.
For the fast to be most effective, both husband and wife should do it. This may enhance sperm count. Male herbs should be taken which will strengthen the male reproductive system. Both fruits and vegetables should be used, but preferably not always at the same time. Also, when hunger is bad some raw fruits or vegetables my be eaten. Try to use organic as much as possible.
I received this post today as I was leaving the doctor after hearing that I have two large cysts on my ovaries and just got diagnosed with PCOS. Divine indeed…
Thanks for the great information!
Wow! You’re welcome.
Sometimes medical diagnoses can be scary. Convention has the treatments it recommends, but usually just to manage problems, not heal them. Dr Christopher often said that there are no incurable diseases, only incurable people. Nowadays we’re dealing with problems he never encountered in his life, but I still believe this principle can be true for many people. We just have to educate ourselves about how to truly cleanse and nourish our bodies.
Good luck!
I have PCOS and endometriosis (double whammy) and I just stumbled on your site when searching for oils to help with those.
I am scheduled to begin hormone replacement in a couple weeks.
So how do these oils help exactly? Do they fix the hormones that are causing the problems or treat the bothersome symptoms?
The oils do help balance hormones and alleviate symptoms. Unlike synthetic hormones, they go to the root of the problem and actually heal and balance at the cellular level. You must always address the inner terrain of your whole body to get to the cause. Cleansing and nourishing the whole body, while giving specific help to certain systems gives the body the appropriate tools to correct itself.
Synthetic hormones and drugs will force a certain action in the body, acting as a temporary fix, but never addressing the true cause of the problem. Synthetics often cause unwanted side effects as well, because they are unnatural and unbalanced.
Doterra just came out with an excellent cleansing product called Zendocrine, and their Lifelong Vitality supplement pack is the best I can find on the market for providing complete nutritional support. If you cleanse and nourish your body, giving it the right tools, it will heal and balance itself. It takes more time and effort, but you’ll have a healthier functioning body in the long run. Please contact me directly if you have more questions.
Thanks for letting me know about this article, Jenni. I will send Karin over to read it!
=)
The success stories are beautiful. I wish I could be part of this story. I am a 35 year old. About a year ago I started having issues with pain. I have been trying to get pregnant for 2 years. Surprisingly we have been unsuccessful. I have this pain before and after my menstrual period. Please could you recommend what type of oil to use?
Stella, sorry to take so long to respond to your question. I missed it somehow.
First I want to tell you that pain is a sign your body needs more nutrition. When you give it enough of the right nutrition, you won’t have as much pain. The cheapest thing to try is red raspberry leaf in capsule (2 caps, 3 times a day) or the tea, 1 quart a day, sweetened with honey.
Vickie Sorensen has an excellent herbal formula called FemEase with several different herbs that could help alot. These herbs balance and nourish the reproductive system. I have several friends who have decreased their pain and even gotten pregnant by taking this formula and doing a 2 week juice fast.
Doterra has a monthly formula for women called FM Assist, which is 15 enteric coated capsules of essential oils for the reproductive system and PMS discomfort. These capsules would be good to try for immediate relief of symptoms, but the FemEase herbal formula should help much to decrease pain over time.
These are effective tools that can help you if you give them a chance. Let me know if you have other questions!
Jenni
Thanks so much for answering me. I was really waiting for this reply. Please could you explain how or what should be in the juice, because I am interested in doing the juice fast. Could the juice, and Vickie’s FemEase help me to conceive, because I was diagnosed with hydrosalpinx which is the blockage of the tube and it’s painful.
Thanku for posting this. I was wondering if i can still take the doterra life long vitality vitamins while trying to get pregnant. I have bad cramps on my right ovaries. Or would u recommend the steps that u took with vicki?
Yes, the Doterra Vitality Pack is excellent for overall nutrition and healing support. I would still recommend that you take Vickie’s FemEase to nourish and strengthen the reproductive system and balance the hormones. You’ll want to take this through your fourth month of pregnancy. I strongly recommend that you do a phone consultation with Vickie also. She will know what else could help you.
I have been using the doTERRA essential oils for almost a year now and have greatly enjoyed them. In looking at their site I did not see Nutmeg oil. Did you get it from doTERRA or from another company?
Doterra has not sold this oil yet. I have some of Vickie’s HERE.
